8 Weight Loss Tips

  1. Plan!Plan!Plan!~Plan each meal ahead of time.  If time does not allow for you to prepare your meals each day, then choose one or two days a week to prepare your food for the week.
  2. Avoid All Alcoholic Beverages~This will sabotage your success.
  3. Avoid Fruits High In Sugar~ Raisins, Grapes and Watermelon.
  4. Don’t Fall Victim To The Light Switch Diet~ When you make a mistake and eat the wrong type of food don’t consider yourself off a diet and therfore eat whatever you like until you go back on the diet.  Just write down what you ate, and why and go right back to eating properly.
  5. Don’t Become A Slave to the Scale~Realize that our goal is to lose fat, not just weight.  Your body is going to undergo changes and the scale does not always keep up with these changes.  For example, your body retains water differently throughout the day and throughout the month.  Therefore, weigh yourself the same time each week.
  6. Become Aware Of Feeding Cues~We often mistake these cues for hunger such as mistaking our digestive tract peristaling (moving) as stomach growls or hunger pains.  We may also mistakenly think we are hungry because we are programmed to eat at a certain time, or grabbing a snack as we pass through the kitchen.
  7. If You Must Go Out To Eat~Eat a light snack right before going and carry your calorie counter book with you.  Order grilled meats and vegetables and eat slowly while concentrating more on convesation.  Try asking the waiter to box half of your meal prior to bringing you your food.
  8. When Offered Food You Know You Shouldnt Eat~Put NO firmly in front of your sentance. For expample, “NO Thank You, I don’t care for any.” Don’t leave it open for debate.
